SUBJECT: The Bobcat Bulletin - August 15, 2025

The heat is back, Milton!  Hopefully, this is my last super long message😊

  • The College Career Technology and Education (CTAE) class needs your help! The students have been enjoying their new specials class that focuses on career education through creative hands-on activities.  For upcoming lessons, we are collecting the following: paper towel rolls, empty water bottles and 2L bottles (with lids!). Do you have these around the house? Please have your child drop these items off in the bins by the CTAE classroom. Many thanks! Any questions? Reach out to Mrs. Spoeth (CTAE Teacher).
  • Don’t forget to add money to your child’s lunch account. You can do this here. You can also go to this website to see how much money they have left and what they have purchased. Want to limit what your child buys or ask lunch purchase related questions? Please email our amazing cafeteria manager Ms. Lynn.
  • Parent Lunches: You are welcome to come to have lunch with your children starting on Monday! Just remember to greet your child and take them to the stage with you for lunch. Do not join your child’s class at their table or invite other children to the stage. Keep it a family experience. Check this lunch schedule out so you know when your child’s class dines. Try to get here roughly five minutes before lunch begins. When lunch is over, please say goodbye in the cafeteria as we do not allow parents back to the classrooms after lunch.
  • SSS: Student Success Skills (SSS) is a set of standards taught to students that support students in creating a foundation for managing emotions, healthy relationships, understanding and empathizing with others, being responsible and safe and learning to cope with difficult life situations. Student Success Skills will be taught by all teachers to all students. Please see this Parent Packet for more detailed information. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our Student Success Skills Champion and School Counselor, Jen Soloff.
  • Please find the attached Cub Scout flier. There is an informational/recruitment meeting in the BFES cafeteria on Tuesday, August 19th at 5:15pm.
  • Did you know that The Summit Counseling Center works with students here at BFES? Check out their website for more information.
  • Curriculum Night is coming! Parents come to the school to hear what the students will be learning about this year. It is a night to learn about the school and the different processes in place at BFES. Check out the dates below.
  • Label Stuff: Please label your child’s belongings: water bottles, lunch bags, sweatshirts, and jackets. If they’re labeled, they will be returned a lot quicker.

AUGUST 25 - SEPTEMBER 30

The Birmingham Falls Elementary PTO is a welcoming and inclusive community of families, caregivers, and educators working together to create exceptional experiences for every student. We focus on building strong bridges between home and school, enriching the educational journey and strengthening the support system around each student.

Each year, the PTO raises funds that stay 100% within our school to support student enrichment, staff empowerment, and community-building initiatives. Your generous contributions help fill the gap between what public funding provides and what our students truly deserve.

By joining or supporting our PTO, you're helping to build a stronger, more connected school—and creating meaningful opportunities that benefit all students.

Introducing the BFES Sunshine Fund

At Birmingham Falls, we believe in the power of community. The BFES Sunshine Fund is a special initiative driven by the PTO that is designed to support our Bobcat families and staff during life’s ups and downs. Whether we’re celebrating joyful milestones—like a new baby or a big achievement—or offering support during more difficult times, the Sunshine Fund allows our community to come together and show that we care.

How is it funded: A portion of every PTO membership will automatically go toward the Sunshine Fund, helping ensure that no one faces life’s big moments alone. Families and individuals also have the option to make direct contributions to the fund at any time via the PTO Website.

This is just one more way we’re making sure Birmingham Falls feels like home—because Bobcats take care of Bobcats.
