BFES is pleased to announce that our school-wide Spelling Bee Winner is 5th grader Lauren Simms. Lauren will advance to the Fulton County District Spelling Bee held on Saturday, January 10th from 8:30 am-3:30 pm at North Springs Charter High School. Our 2nd place winner is 4th grader, Ansley Gomez and our 3rd place winner is 3rd grader, Lola Crosby. We are so proud of all our spelling bee participants. Way to go bee spellers!
The Thanksgiving Feast is next week! You can pre-pay for tickets through Sunday, November 16th! It is $6 per ticket per non-student. Please choose the correct link for your child’s grade level. Tickets can be picked up on the day of the Feast as you enter the cafeteria. If you use cash, it has to be exact cash which is why prepaying may make life easier and more efficient. Email rountree@fultonschools.org with any questions.
Lunches for students on days that they do not go to the feast are Yogurt Pack or Jammers. Students who want them have already entered their orders.
Recess Temperature? Is it too cold for recess? In many cases, probably not. If it is 36 degrees or higher, we go out. If it is 35 degrees or lower, we stay in. This can be a moving target at times too because kids need to run. If it is questionable, there is sometimes a class that stays inside as an option. Or we do a quick 15 minutes of recess outside and the rest inside. If it starts snowing no matter what the temperature, there is a good chance we would let the kids catch some snowflakes on their tongues. It is a distraction that can’t be ignored😊 Please clearly label jackets, sweatshirts, and hats.
