The Holidays are here, BFES Families (just in case you didn’t hear)! 

  • Thank you, PTO! The Savory Gourmet lunch was amazing!  The decorations and the vibe were nice too. Thank you to the parents that helped serve too. It was amazing!
  • Feel free to participate in our fun December Dress-Up Days:
    • 12/15 MONDAY- Spirit of the Season! Wear your festive attire!
    • 12/16 TUESDAY- Holiday Happiness Day! Break out your favorite holiday sweater!
    • 12/17 WEDNESDAY- Baby, It’s Cold Outside! Bundle up in your favorite flannel!
    • 12/18 THURSDAY- Shine Bright Like a Light! Light up your wardrobe with holiday lights, glitter, tinsel, light up necklaces, etc.
    • 12/19 FRIDAY- Wear your JAMMIES!!!
  • BFES Vision Screening will take place on December 16th for all 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students. Please be sure that students have their glasses or contacts for the screening if they wear them.   • If you plan to volunteer in the classroom, please sign up to be volunteer trained.  Go to this link to be volunteer trained. This does not take long.

    • Friday, December 19th:  Last day of first the first semester
    • Tuesday, January 6th: Students start the second semester at BFES.
    • Monday, January 19th: NO SCHOOL - Martin Luther King, Jr Holiday  
    • Wednesday, January 21st:  Music Bingo in cafeteria from 4pm – 6pm
    • Friday, January 30th: PTO Meeting at 9:30am in the cafeteria
    • February 16th and 17th: NO SCHOOL - Teacher workday and professional development days.
    • Friday, February 27th:  International Night in the cafeteria at 4:00pm
    • Friday, March 6th:  Kindergarten Round-Up
    • Monday, March 16th:  NO SCHOOL – Teacher workday
    • Monday, March 23rd :  Birmingham Falls Golf Tournament
    • Friday, March 27th:  PTO meeting at 9:30am in the cafeteria
    • April 6th through 10th:  NO SCOOL – Spring Break

Dearist Writing Program

One of our featured Storybook Forest guest readers this week was Jenn Yang, BFES parent and creator of Dearist!
