• Volunteer at BFES: Don’t forget, to work in the classrooms with children you must be volunteer trained. This training does not take long at all and helps to avoid hang-ups at the front desk when coming to volunteer your time.

Book Fair is coming October 19–23!

This year’s Book Fair will be cashless for the first time! After Fall Break, families will receive information about setting up an eWallet so students can shop independently during the fair. Stay tuned for details.

Grandparent Lunches will take place during Book Fair week, giving grandparents (or a special grown up) a chance to enjoy lunch with their students and visit the Book Fair together.

Attention: Any third, fourth, or fifth grader interested in entering the Fulton County Technology Competition

The Fulton County Schools Technology Competition is a regional competition for the Georgia Student Technology Competition. Students in grades 3-12 compete in a variety of categories by entering a student-created technology project. The in-person county technology competition will be on January 9 at North Springs High School. Projects are to be designed and created by the student outside of school. Some adult guidance is allowed, but it must be clear that the submitted work was done by the student. Students who win at the district level will compete at state competition. The PTO spends about $150,000 each school year on programs and support for our students, teachers, staff, and school community. That funding comes directly from BFES families.

So far, BFES families have contributed $40,000 toward this year’s $150,000 goal!

But what does that money actually do? 

Your contributions help fund many of the things that make the BFES experience special, including:

• Student programs & resources: STEM Lab, Field Day, PBIS rewards and celebrations (like Bobcat Leader lunches and treats), student agendas, playground equipment, and more
• School events: Ice Cream Social, Bobcat Bash, Bingo, International Night, Mother/Son Kickball, Father/Daughter Dance, and 5th Grade events
• Teacher & staff support: classroom supply reimbursements, staff appreciation, lunches and treats, gifts, and support for our specials teachers
• Behind-the-scenes school needs: landscaping, the marquee sign, insurance, and other expenses that help PTO programs and events happen throughout the year
